Jon Haire for U.s. house of representatives district 36

My name is Jonathan “Jon” Haire. I am a retired Oak Ridge National Laboratory scientist running for the Texas 36th Congressional District (CD-36). I believe in doing things for “the common good,” i.e., creating conditions to everyone’s advantage. 

Why I’m Running?

I am running for the Texas 36th Congressional District seat because our country’s democracy is in danger.  Extreme right-wing politicians are working to overthrow the results of the last presidential election.  Their followers assaulted our elected officials in the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, turning the debate from words and ideas to violence. Eighteen states have passed laws restricting our voting rights.  Truly, our democracy is in peril.
